Two Japanese; Nao Hibino and Kurumi Nara are in action in the first day of TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup.
Turkey’s first and only WTA tournament TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup 2016 edition now officially starts. After qualies began, main draw matches kicking of in Monday, 18th of April in Garanti Koza Arena.
Second match on main court will be an interesting clash between two players with a big differences. Sixth-seed Japanese Nao Hibino will take on 15-year old youngster Dayana Yastremska from Ukraine, who will be playing on very first WTA main draw match. Hibino isn’t in a roll currently as she lost her last four tournament in the opening round. On the other side, nothing-to-lose Yastremska won 25K ITF event in clay recently in United States.
Other main draw match also featured Japanese player too. Kurumi Nara, former quarter finalist here, will face off with 5th seed Montenegrin Danka Kovinic. Upcoming player Kovinic, currently sits on No.62 in the WTA ranking, come to Istanbul with high expectation. 21-year old Montenegrin never played before against the diminutive Japanese dinamo.
