Eugenie Bouchard and Tsvetana Pironkova were among the losers of second day in TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup. Meanwhile Turkish qualifier Başak Eraydın and Sara Errani highlighted with their wins.

Canadian Eugenie Bouchard eliminated from İstanbul Cup at opening round after felt to Jana Cepelova, who ranked 97 in this week. The tall Slovak Cepelova draws very good performance on serve, both first and second. Bouchard didn’t took a rhythm in any part of the match. Cepelova easily won 6-0 and 6-4 in 66 minutes to ousted No.4 seed from the tournament.

Cepelova’s next opponent will be Spanish clay-courter Sara Sorribes Tormo, who eliminated local hope İpek Soylu in straight sets. Sorribes wins the match 6-3 and 7-5 despite 11 double faults and weak service games – lost five of them.

Early part of the session, Turkish qualifier Başak Eraydın wrote story of the day. After had a main draw berth with a historic run, she added another important win to her chain by defeated experienced Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova, who is contesting 10th İstanbul Cup. Başak looks so focused on the court – even didn’t realized match is over – confused to opponent with very-well executed drop shots and shortened cross-balls. Turkish No.3 closed the match in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 to journeyed round 16 for the first time.

Former French Open finalist Sara Errani is one of the latest entries in main draw, made a easy start to her campaign. The diminutive Italian produced a devastating display over Taipei’s Su-Wei Hsieh. She hammered former doubles number one 6-0 and 6-1 by reaching second round.
