A day after making the doubles final, 5th seed Danka Kovinic also books her singles final spot at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup.

Following Cagla Buyukakcay’s maiden success, Danka Kovinic also had a good day at the office as she defeated first-time semifinalist Ukranian Kateryna Kozlova 7-5, 6-4 to reach second career final.

21-year-old Montenegrin grabbed the first set 7-5 where there were back to back break of serves. In the second, despite falling behind 4-2, Kovinic took the full control before breaking Kozlova’s serve twice and won four consecutive games for 6-4.

This is the second final for Kovinic, who finished runner-up last October in Tianjin. World no.60 will play two finals on the last day of tournament, first one against Buyukakcay in singles, then against Ipek Soylu/Andreea Mitu in doubles partnering Xenia Knoll.

Prior to Kovinic, only player to advance to both singles and doubles final at the Istanbul Cup was Lucie Hradecka in 2009.
