CARO, AGA, SVETA: ISTANBUL CUP DRAW IS OUT

The main draw ceremony of WTA Tour’s prestigious event TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup took place with the attendances of 2016 champion Cagla Buyukakcay alongside two other local players Ayla Aksu and Ipek Oz, Turkish Tennis Federation President Cengiz Durmus, Tournament Director Yavuz Selek and WTA Supervisor Cristina Romero at the Koza World of Sports The Club.

2018 Australian Open champion, world no. 2 and top seed Caroline Wozniacki, who clinched the title here in 2014, will open her Istanbul Cup campaign against Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova. Second seed and two-time Grand Slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova to take on Wang Qiang as third seed Agnieszka Radwanska will play Donna Vekic in the opening round.

Buyukakcay, who captured the biggest victory in Turkish tennis history two years ago at the Garanti Koza Park, starts against Greek Maria Sakkari while other Turkish wildcarded players Aksu takes on Pauline Parmentier and Oz faces Kateryna Bondarenko. Other notables match-ups are Sara Errani-Kirsten Flipkens, Sorana Cirstea-Yulia Putintseava, Ekaterina Makarova-Aleksandra Krunic.
